DAY 1

"One Sunday morning after an hour of sleep I said to wake up my friends and go to Salzburg.

Salzburg is the fourth largest city in Austria and was listed as a UNESCO World Heritage Site in 1996.

The train ride took about two hours from the area where I was staying, but the landscape you could see from the window made it look even shorter!

When I arrived in the city, its original appearance was not remarkable to me, until we started walking and the road took us to the Mirabelle Palace and its amazing gardens. "

"Then we crossed the Bridge which houses thousands of padlocks to go to the part of town where one of the attractions is Mozart's house which was unfortunately closed due to restrictive measures against the dispersal of Covid. We continued our walk to the Cathedral of the city, we walked on the main street Getreidegasse with hundreds of shops and when we were tired we bought burgers and sat on the banks of the river Salzach. We continued our walk in the picturesque alleys until late afternoon and took the road back.

One of the most famous attractions is the Hohensalzburg Fortress and the city Zoo which I did not manage to visit so I have one more reason to try a day trip to Salzburg again.

And of course do not forget to get Mozart balls (or Mozartkugel) which is a local dessert that you can find very easily! ''
