DAY 5

Samuel Fábry tells us,

"Once upon a time when little Samy was 10 years old

Μy father decided that our next destination is going to be Hurghada in Egypt. We both fell in love with this place and since this time it became the only possible destination for our summer men's trip.

Since Egypt is well known for its cultural heritage, many people could predict that we fell in love with this country, known as a country of pyramids and pharaons for this reason. But for me as a person who don't appreciate too much movement, except for taking some photos in gym, is the most important for every vacation in Egypt to book hotel with free WIFI, gym, sauna and a plenty of beer.

In Slovakia we say "exception confirms the rule" and to follow this saying, also lazy Sam had to do at least one trip during his more than 10 visits in Egypt.

Every day you run into the dozens of people usually called Ahmed, offering you trips such as snorkeling, safari and many others. Believe me, even though their price can be really competitive compared to trips offered by official agencies provided by your travelling agencies representatives the risk is definitely not worth this money.

Therefore, having in mind legal norns and importance of proper insurance in African country, we talked with the representative of our agency. Since we wanted to experience the culture of Egypt soon, we found out that there are two possible trips for us. The pyramids in Giza, near Cairo or the Valley of the Kings near Luxor.

You have two possibilities to get from Hurghada to the place where pyramids are. First option is to undergo about 6 hours long journey by bus, through African desert, using African highways which included free sauna during whole trip. For people who are satisfied with their bodies and don't feel like losing few kilograms of their weight while sweating in bus you can take a plane (😂😂). Even though this plane might be older than my grandparents, it still can fly and definitely can save a lot of time even though it might raise your blood pressure above the normal value.

Therefore, we decided to book a trip to Valley of the Kings. We got there in around 3 and a half hours by bus, leaving from hotel pretty early in the morning so the travelling wasn't bad at all. It’s also recommended to take long white-colour clothes.

First of all, we visited the Valley of the Kings where you can see many interesting artefacts as well as tombs of previous kings and important people of Egyptian history. For example, the tomb of king Tutankhamun is also located in there, but in order to enter you have to pay additional fee on the place. Also not all locations are available because of the archeological research which still takes a place in there.

Afterwards, we moved to the temple of Hatshepsut also known as Djeser-Djeseru, which is really located in dessert so the temperature was above 50 degrees. This temple is considered one of the incomparable monuments of Egypt and I highly recommend to visit it. Luckily it should be always included in case you choose to go for a trip to Luxor.

Lastly, we visited Karnak temple complex and on our way there we could also see Colossi of Memnon, very nice experience!

Definitely you must visit African cities!

Kisses from Slovakia"
